Protestant Church "St. John the Baptist" of Schwalenberg

A scripture ribbon which was uncovered proved that the origin of the church is well before 1200. In 1228 it was extended to a Cistercian monastery by Count Volkwin. After a fire in 1307, the originally Romanesque church building was provided with modern stylistic elements and was this way converted into a gothic church with a late gothic sacramental corner.
